Summer may be coming to a close here, but Six Flags Great America made sure to make a big splash before the leaves start to change color.
Slated for 2021, the Gurnee amusement park announced that they are adding a new attraction to their Hurricane Harbor water park.
Like the predecessing 2019 coaster before it, Maxx Force, the water park attraction will break records.
The water coaster dubbed Tsunami Surge will open during the 2021 season. This attraction will be the tallest water coaster in the world, Standing 86 feet at its peak. This ride will utilize a water-launching technology to send its riders through 950 feet of slides.
“Six Flags is the undisputed leader in delivering record-breaking rides and world-class thrills,” said Six Flags Great America Park President Hank Salemi in the press release. “The new Tsunami Surge water coaster is in a class all by itself, defying gravity to blast riders uphill through 950 feet of exhilarating drops, twists and turns. This exciting, new addition is the perfect complement to an already incredible lineup of the biggest and most innovative attractions in the Midwest.”
The Six Flags announcement is the fifth new attraction at the park in as many years. This record-breaking water coaster will also be the latest attraction added to Hurricane Harbor since 2011.
This ride is already set to break records. However this ride will do more than that to generate waves of excitement from fans across the world.
