Waukegan Air Show gains huge attraction for 2012 Show Schedule

Las Vegas, Nevada - (Dec. 6, 2011) - The Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds officially released their 2012 show schedule this week at the International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) in
Las Vegas, Nevada.
The announcement was made to a rousing crowd of the biggest names in North America's air show industry. 2012 marks the 42nd season for the Snowbirds, lead by the Commanding Officer, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron - The Canadian Snowbirds.
We are excited that Wings Over Waukegan is able to bring such a rare performance to our area, said Wings Over Waukegan President, Grant Farrell. We look forward to working with the professionals from the Canadian Snowbirds to showcase this amazing demonstration team, Farrell said.
Air Boss Jeff Clark of Wings Over Waukegan commented, I'm thrilled that we are one of only seven U.S. air shows that the Royal Canadian Air Force is coming to in 2012. This is unbelievable. It is going to be different than any show we've done in the past, said Clark. Spectators will be coming from Northern Illinois/Indiana as well as the Southern Wisconsin Regions to witness first hand the Canadian Snowbirds' high flying maneuvers and truly famous flight formations.
During the 2012 season, the Snowbirds are scheduled to participate in over 30 air shows in over 30 locations, proudly telling the Royal Canadian Air Force story through their inspirational flying. As ambassadors of the Royal Canadian Air Force and Canada, the team will travel over the globe to showcase their skills.
In the U.S., the Snowbirds' Waukegan appearance will attract spectators from Northern Illinois/Indiana and the Southern Wisconsin Regions. Other U.S. appearances include Jones Beach, NY, Minot, ND, Duluth, MN, Rome, GA, Forth Worth, TX and Daytona, FL.
During the team's 42-year history, the Snowbirds have performed in almost 2300 air shows, before almost 135 million spectators.
The Snowbirds Demonstration Team (431 Squadron) is a Canadian icon comprised of serving members of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Their pilots and technicians work as a team to bring thrilling performances to the North American public. Serving as Canadian ambassadors, the Snowbirds demonstrate the high level of professionalism, teamwork, excellence, discipline and dedication inherent in the women and men of the Air Force and the Royal Canadian Air Force.
