Waukegan Park District - The Illinois Park & Recreation Association recently announced the winners of its No Employee Left Behind award. The winners are Lake County Forest Preserve, Olympia Fields, South Barrington, Vernon Hills, Waukegan, WDSRA and Wheaton.
Applicants working toward obtaining the award went through a stringent process, including the initial application, self-assessment and evaluation. A wellness committee comprised of three park and recreational professionals selected the winners after reviewing all submitted materials. The award will be presented at the IPRA annual business meeting on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 5:00 pm at the Hilton Chicago.
By dedicating the time to go through the self-assessment study, the review and compilation of materials, as well as the evaluation process, these winners have shown a commitment to their employees well being, said LoriKay Paden, wellness committee member. Their boards and staff should be congratulated on this achievement!
The NELB program encompasses the six dimensions of wellness working towards developing a well-balanced life from the inside out. The six dimensions are: Physical Activity, Social, Emotional, Intellectual, Spiritual and Environmental. Healthy employees are paramount to having a healthy agency - higher productivity, lower absenteeism and many more benefits!
