Hop aboard a tram tour or enjoy a walking tour. You can pair your tour with an exciting special event or a trip to see the trains in the Model Railroad Garden, and then relax in your own private dining space with a delicious boxed lunch.

Continue on to the Cuneo Museum and Gardens. The Mansion with its opulent Venetian style architecture features a 30-foot high great hall with arcaded balconies, sky lighted ceiling and grand staircase. The grounds encompass 75 serene acres with lakes, fountains, formal gardens, antique classical statuary, a private nine-hole golf course and a conservatory housing exotic plants.

Be inspired by the creativity surrounding the Ragdale Foundation, the fourth largest artist’s community in the country.

Located on the grounds of noted architect Howard Van Doren Shaw’s summer retreat; the house and gardens are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tour the home, grounds and an artist’s studio.

The discoveries don’t have to end. Relax a bit in one of our Restful Spaces. Lake County has over 50 hotels including three resorts!

Take a late afternoon tour of Lake Forest – the Newport of the West,’ originally conceived as a retreat from big city life providing quiet and beauty to socially prominent Chicago families.

Drive by elegant mansions; see Market Square designed by Howard Van Doreen Shaw and Marshall Field and breeze along curvilinear, tree-lined streets with ravines, beautiful parks and a lovely beachfront.
