This weekend is Lincolnshire’s however as they aim to please by filling your belly with delectable delights. As you are cruising this weekend to see some hot rods at Volo Auto Museum, you should bump Dylan Kroll’s ‘Lake County, the Bounty of Illinois,’ with the top down.
Finally, yours truly has reached a bench mark year. Tonight I’m turning the big 3-0. Yes hold your applause. The celebration I will have this year is filling up on delicious goodness at Taste of Lincolnshire and drinking some craft suds.
Here are some of the top things to do this weekend July 24-26.
1.) What better place than to have a bite to eat in Lincolnshire this weekend as Friday-Sunday marks the 2015 Taste of Lincolnshire. The fantastic event lineup includes cooking demos, plenty of children activities and live entertainment. Live music performances include acts such as Thunder Road, Fortunate Sons, Mad Dogs & Englishmen, Dylan Kroll (singer of Lake County the Bounty of Illinois), and so much more. Food Trucks Fridays will be in attendance at Village Green Center as well. Make your way to the mouth-watering, outside dining event.

2.) Ready to ‘Reel in the years.’ ‘Do it again,’ with Steely Dan as they perform two nights at Ravinia Festival. Both nights only have lawn seating available. Bring your chairs, blankets, drinks and ‘Pretzel logic.’ The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band has garnered many Grammy nominations and won the prestigious Album of the Year award in 2001. This is a must-see act to see this weekend.

3.) If you are an aficionado of muscle and hot rod cars, visit Volo Auto Museum for day of unbelievable cars at their Fourth Annual All Camaro Show. The event features cars, music, awards and raffles. While you’re seeing these cars of the past, enjoy other models that date back to the turn of the 20th century to the most recent Batmobile. Registration opens at 9 a.m.

4.) Island Lake Lake Fest has to WaterTower Park and will feature Skinner Amusements Carnival all weekend. Attendees will also enjoy he carnival, Lions Club Beer Tent, live music, a hotrod Car Show, craft fair, and the night time Grand Fireworks show over beautiful Island Lake.

5.) Join the Citadel Theater as they put on a show like it was 1600. The Riverwoods outdoor theatre presents Shakespeare’s, ‘As You Like It.’ The story follows seven ages of man; as for its storyline. The most musical of Shakespeare's plays, it features a number of songs which highlight the pastoral atmosphere and the changing of the seasons. Don’t forget a blanket or chair to sit and enjoy the Shakespearean performance.
