1. The Nutcracker at the Marriott Theatre

The Nutcracker is a staple of the holiday season. The Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire is opening their curtain for this ballet originally composed by Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovsky. This legendary story follows a group of family and friends gathered together for a Christmas celebration. Clara, the story’s protagonist, is given a Nutcracker gift from her godfather. When the children go to bed, Clara stays awake and finds herself in the middle of a battle between a slew of mice and gingerbread soldiers – and thus the magic ensues with the soldiers led by the Nutcracker himself. This ballet runs until December 30.

5. A Christmas Story the Musical at Citadel Theatre

There’s that part of us that always have that phrase, ‘You’ll shoot your eye out,” and Santa Clause saying ‘Ho, Ho, Ho,’ extremely menacing. This musical received rave reviews on its Broadway run and is based on the movie classic. Set in the 1940s, it follows Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts—an Official Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot Range Model air rifle. Careful to not stick your tongue out this winter on a dare.
