1.) Wings over Waukegan Air Show,
Saturday September 6, 12 – 3 p.m. Cover your ears and open your eyes because it’s time for The Annual Waukegan Air Show, Wings over Waukegan. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for this family event and watch as favorites like the F-18 SuperHornet, USN Static Aircraft Displays, Classic Warbirds, Jet Bus and Military Aircraft, soar through the sky performing exciting stunts and procedures. Learn about history at this impressive event and make a day of it while enjoying food and refreshment booths. Gates open at 9:30 a.m. and show begins at noon. Get there early for the best spots! Tickets are available at the gate for $10, and Military Personnel in uniform and kids under 12 are free. Waukegan Regional Airport, 3580 N. McAree Rd., Waukegan, IL

2.) 1st Fridays on MainStreet, Friday 
September 5, 6-9 p.m. Celebrate back to school with a night on the town. Have dinner al fresco or inside one of the many restaurants in Downtown Libertyville. Stroll along Milwaukee Avenue and support independent stores. You never know what you might find -- good music, special promotional events -- even a wine tasting or two. Downtown Libertyville, IL
3.) Antioch’s Fall Arts & Crafts Faire, 
Saturday, September 6 – Sunday, September 7. Find everything you’ll need to decorate this fall at Antioch's Arts and Crafts Faire packed full of unique items from more than 140 booths of hand-crafted goods. Find many different types of crafts including woods, metals, ceramics, apparel, candles, jewelry, photography, purses, paintings, photography, a Farmers Market, and many seasonal crafts perfect for the Holidays! 4.) Mundelein Arts Fest, Saturday, September 6 – Sunday, September 7, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Experience and discuss exceptional art from a variety of media at this weekend long event of all things art! See up and coming art talents in highlighted student artwork from Mundelein and Carmel Catholic High Schools. Bring the family! Come share a magical day in the park enjoying original artwork, live music, and a tasty assortment of food from local eateries. Plus, kiddos will love the variety of activities planned just for them. 5.) The Farm: Images from the Heartland Exhibit 2012, Runs through Tuesday, 
November 4, Sunday-Saturday. See the winners from a Heartland Art contest which called for classic farm scenes including buildings, equipment, animals, farm fields, crops, and the people that make it all possible. Get to know more about regional artists and local past times from these award winning pieces of unique art available for purchase.
