Trains, Tricks and Treats at Chicago Botanic Garden Saturday, October 18 & Sunday, October 19, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Trick-or-treat throughout the Model Railroad Garden and celebrate Halloween with a festive train display including spider webs, spiders, ghosts, goblins, and pumpkins. Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America, Thru November 2, Fridays, 5 – 11 p.m., Saturdays, 11 a.m. – Midnight, Sundays, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. It’s thrills by day and chills by night at Fright Fest’s biggest celebration ever. Bring kiddos for the day to enjoy family fun rides and less scary entertainment and then ride coasters in the dark, enjoy a live show, or explore one of 6 terrifying haunted houses. 6.) Haunted House Season Lake County is home to some of the highest rated haunted houses in the region including Dungeon of Doom and the Realm of Terror. Celebrate the scariest season with these classics or get a scare on at House of Macabre in Antioch or the Carnival of Chaos Haunted House in Mundelein.
7.) Third Annual Itty Bitty Pumpkin Patch Saturday, October 18, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. This is a great way for young kids to celebrate Halloween. There's no reason they can't get in on some of the spooky fun around Lake County this year! Roll up those Halloween costume sleeves and get ready to decorate pumpkins safely with paint, stickers and glitter at this free event.
