There are a lot of events going on this weekend, so don't even think about that hour you lost the last weekend. Lake County will have festivities with more daylight to match.
1.) From Friday through Tuesday, come to downtown Barrington where everyone becomes Irish at the Fifth Annual Barrington Celtic Fest. The festival will be held in Downtown Barrington and renowned Irish establishment McGonigal’s Pub. You will celebrate with live entertainment, Irish food options, retail merchants and family friendly events during the day.

2.) Don’t miss out on the Orchid Show at Chicago Botanic Garden. This is the last weekend of this unique display of more than 12,000 brilliant, beautiful and unusual orchids grown around the world. To complement the stunning array of bloomed colors featured at the Chicago Botanic Garden’s Regenstein Center, there will be a preview reception, Tuesday Morning music and much more entertainment. Members of the Chicago Botanic Garden receive $2.00 off of admission.
Friday-Sunday, March 13-15 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Adult admission $10, while senior and child admission is $8.
3.) The funny man, Gabriel Iglesias who brought you hysterical stand-up comedy specials like I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy and Hot and Fluffy, makes his way to Genesee Theatre in Waukegan with his Unity Through Laughter World Tour. Iglesias has a knack for storytelling and animated voice impressions. His unique style of comedy has propelled Iglesias as one of the most talented comedians in the industry.

4.) Searching for an evening of music, humor and laughter? Are you even more curious when you find out that every scene is improvised? Then Broadway’s Next H!t Musical is where you need to be Friday night. Come check this James Lumber Center show in Grayslake and with the audience’s help, they will perform a musical for you on off the top of their head!

5.) Hot wax painting is an artistic and challenging medium. Not for Noreen Cashman as Friday is the last day for her “Hot Works,” Exhibit at the Dandelion Gallery in Waukegan. Noreen’s encaustics or hot wax technique is a can’t miss experience.
