Friday is rapidly approaching, and naturally, there are plenty of things to do this weekend April 7-9 in Lake County.

Don't forget to mark your calendars as there are a plethora of Easter celebrations in Lake County starting this weekend and stretching till April 16.

Also, we have the weather to enjoy, (unless they're just joshing us at this finnicky time of year) because on Sunday it will get up to 70 degrees.

Here's Lake County's top things to do this weekend April 7-9.

1. First Fridays on MainStreet Libertyville

Spring has sprung, and First Fridays on MainStreet Libertyville is throwing a party. Besides the local mom and pop stores offering promotional sales, the free event features an array of delicious drinks, divine dishes and live entertainment. Parking is free and plentiful with MainStreet Libertyville’s new covered parking garage located at Lake Street and Brainerd Avenue. TGIF on MainStreet Libertyville.

2. Jack Hanna at Genesee Theatre

For over three decades, Jack Hanna has appeared many times on television with his collection of critters. Hanna is making a stop at Genesee Theatre in Waukegan where he brings his three-time Emmy Award-winning television series, ‘Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live,’ tour to the stage. In addition to witnessing some of the world’s most magnificent animals, Hanna will share humorous stories and show exclusive footage from his worldwide adventures.

3. 7th Annual Extreme Block Party Family Expo & Taste at the DoubleTree Mundelein

Take the family out for a day of fun as DoubleTree Mundelein hosts the Seventh Annual Multi-Chamber Extreme Block Party Family Expo & Taste. This event will feature 100-plus local vendors, live entertainment, raffle prizes (including a chance to win Chicago Cubs tickets), a live reptile show featuring Dave DiNaso, face painting, food samples by local eateries and so much more. This festive event is for all ages and free of admission.

4. Grayslake Spring Market

The farmers market season kickoff begins in Grayslake. Visit the downtown Grayslake Spring Market every Saturday till May 27 and pick up fresh produce, wine, cheese, baked goods, olives and so much more. Attendees will also experience arts and crafts, live music and children’s activities.

5. Hawthorn Woods' Bark in the Park

Ever wonder where man’s best friend loves to socialize and mingle? Hawthorn Woods is hosting Bark in the Park where dogs, families and friends can take a stroll through Community Park. Your canine will run, jump, roll over and play with other friends. Don’t hesitate in spoiling your pet with treats, because it’s a dog eat dog world out there. Your canine friends will enjoy treats, pampering, and a plethora of fun activities. All participating dogs must be on a leash and have the current flu vaccination. This event is free of admission.
