Complete Guide to the BMW Championship in Lake County

DSC_0570The gates have opened, and and the Gardner Heidrick Pro-Am is complete, so the BMW Championship is in it's second day at Conway Farms in Lake Forest.

The BMW Championship runs through Sunday, September 20.

We know you're going to want to make your to Lake Forest to see some of the greatest golfers in the world right in your back yard such as Jordan Day, Jordan Speith, Rickie Folwer (who respectively have earned the top three spots in the FedExCup standings), Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Jach Johnson, Rory McIlroy and so many more.

Schedule and Map

Rise and shine this weekend! Gates open at 6:30 a.m. for the Saturday-Sunday installments. Here is the schedule from round two-final round.

Sunday, September 20Driving Range Gate & Shuttle Hours: 6:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. 6:30 a.m.: Gates open 7:15 a.m. - 12:40 p.m.: Final Round Hole no. 1 5 p.m. Awards Ceremony on 18th hole

Purchasing Tickets

There are many different types of ticket packages. First and foremost, you may still buy tickets in advance which is a less expensive route, but you also have the opportunity to buy them at the gate (for now).

Parking and Shuttle Bus

Owners of BMW Cars may park in their own lot located at 2722 W. Everett Rd., Mettawa. Shuttle services of BMWs will be provided from the lot. Here's how you get to that lot.

From the North: Follow I-94 East. Exit onto IL-60 Town Line Road and turn right. Proceed for 1 mile and turn left onto St. Mary's Road. Proceed for 1.3 miles and turn left onto Everett Road. The parking lot will be on your left.

From the South: Follow I-94 West. Exit onto IL IL-22 Half Day Road and turn left. Proceed for 1 mile and turn right onto Riverwoods Road. Proceed for 1.5 miles and go through the roundabout and head west (left). The parking lot will be on your right.

From the West: Follow IL-22 Half Day Road East. Turn left onto RIverwoods Road.  Proceed for 1.5 miles and go through the roundabout and head west (left). The parking lot will be on your right. From the East: Follow IL-22 Half Day Road West. Turn right onto Riverwoods Road.  Proceed for 1.5 miles and go through the roundabout and head west (left). The parking lot will be on your right.

Complimentary Parking

A free lot for non-BMW owners and other spectators is located at 399 Lakehurst Rd, Waukegan. A complimentary shuttle will be provided from this lot.  Here are some directions.

From the North: Follow I-94 East. Exit onto IL-21 Milwaukee Ave. Proceed for 1.2 miles and turn right on to IL-120 Belvidere Road East. Continue on IL-120 Belvidere Road for 4.2 miles and take the IL-43 South exit. Keep right and merge onto Fountain Square Place. The Public Parking Lot will be on your left.

From the South: Follow I-94 west. Exit on to IL-120 Belvidere Road East. Continue East on IL-120 Belvidere Road and take the IL-43 South exit. Keep right and merge onto Fountain Square Place. The Public Parking Lot will be on your left.

From the East: Follow IL- 120 Belvidere Road East. Exit at IL- 43 South, turn left onto Fountain Square Place. The Public Parking Lot will be on your left.

From the West: Follow IL-120 Belvidere Road East. Exit at IL- 43 South. Keep right and merge onto Fountain Square Place. The Public Parking Lot will be on your left.

Thursday HighlightsPractice on 17

The Visit Lake County Team  attended the BMW Championship on Thursday and there were a lot of highlights. Jason Day of the UK leads the standings in the Conway Farm Tourament, as he does in the FedExCup Standings. Jordan Spieth registered a hole in one (that we missed) on the second hole.

The remainder of Thursday was suspended due to severe thunderstorms.

The winner of this tournament $8,250,000 (that's a hunk of change). The leaderboard is as follows for the weekend tournament:

1.             Jason Day - 11 2.            Kevin Na   -8 2.            Daniel Berger -8 2.            Brendan Todd -8 5.            Justin Thomas -7 5.            Jordan Spieth - 7
