Each year we await the fresh goodness and flavor of our local farmers markets.

Without further ado, since many are solely open on Friday, here is your complete 2016 guide to Lake County Farmers Markets.

Radical Root Farm Stand 

Now till December 16 Fridays 3-7 p.m., Saturdays 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Libertyville farm stand carries our organic vegetables, pastured eggs, goat's milk soap from Gretta's Goats, pastured pork and other grass-fed meats, fresh organic bread, grass-fed butter and cheese, and more! So come on out and shop local while supporting organic farms in the community! 

Ravinia Farmers marketRavinia's Annual Farmers Market

June 8 - October 26; 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.

This Highland Park farmer's market has something for everyone. There is a variety of locally grown and organic vegetables and fruits, cheeses, The Olive Tap with oils and balsamic vinegars, baked items including cookies, bread, scones, and sweet tarts, lemonade and coffee. There will also be potted plants and knife sharpening available.

Tempel Farms Organics Farm Stand

Fridays 3-7 p.m. & Saturdays 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in Old Mill Creek

Tempel Farms Organics is a diversified, certified organic farm that practices sustainable agriculture that enriches our soil and provides a healthy environment for growing high quality vegetables, cut flowers, eggs and honey. Visit the farm stand Fridays 3pm-7pm, and Saturdays 8am-2pm.

Gurnee's Farmers Market Farmers Market

Now until Sept 25; Fridays 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. @ Esper Peterson Park

The Gurnee Park District Farmers' Market features fruits, vegetables, flowers, breads, pastries and goodies, meat, eggs, take and go food and much more. See the Farmers' Market Entertainment Schedule of free activities taking place every Friday like live music, cooking classes and demos, goodies and giveaways.

The French Market of Vernon Hills

Saturdays until September 24; 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. @ the Metra Parking Lot

This Vernon Hills market will include local growers, regional sourced cheeses, breads and other foods, but there also may be pottery, wood carvings, imported olive oils and crafts. After all the great food there are non food vendors which represent the mix of interesting items to purchase that make up a traditional french market. There will also be live entertainment each week.

Antioch (13) farmers marketAntioch's Farmers Market

Thursdays, June 2 -  September 29 @ Municipal Parking Lot; 3-7 p.m.

Come enjoy the 2016 Antioch Farmers Market!! There will be everything from fruits and vegetables to plants and flowers, sweets, meats and breads and much, much more. Then stay for It's Thursday Concerts in the park starting tonight at 7:30 pm and then weekly through August 13.

Lake Bluff's Farmers Market

Fridays, June 10- Oct 14 @ Village Green; 7 a.m. - noon

From produce, proteins and pastries to flowers, cheese and more, the Lake Bluff Farmers’ Market is one of the Village’s best places to stock the fridge and pantry! Saturdays, June 18-Oct 15 @ Metra Commuter Parking Lot; 7 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Savor the Flavor of the Seasons' Bounty at the Deerfield Farmer's Market. Look for the bright orange carrot. Locally grown Seasonal vegetables and fruit, organic and naturally grown vegetables and flowers, fresh-cut flowers, potted flowering plants, annuals and perennials, freshly baked breads, muffins and cookies, hand-crafted Wisconsin cheese, tasty maple syrup and honey, and other specialty products and much more!

Zion's Farmers MarketBuffalo Grove's Farmers Market

Sundays, June 12-Oct 9;  8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. @ Mike Rylko Community Park

Looking for farm-fresh produce and homemade food items? Come to Buffalo Grove's Farmers Market on Sunday mornings. There will be farmers and other vendors from the Midwest offering home grown vegetables, fruits, flowers, cheeses, breads and much more.

Thursdays, June 16-September 29 @ Shiloh Park; 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.

Come for the great selections, enjoy the entertainment and make new friends. Fresh fruits and vegetables, arts and crafts, demonstrations, games and food-themed Market Day events in Zion. Visit the website for weekly themes.

Wauconda Farmers Market

Thursdays, June 23 -Oct 6; 3-7 p.m. @ Main Street Wauconda

Wauconda Farmers Market run from the third week in June through the second week in October from 3pm to 7pm, on Main St. Produce, meats, specialty items, entertainment and special events weekly. 

PrintMundelein's Farmers Market

Fridays, June 17-October 7; 3-7 p.m., @ Santa Maria del Popolo Parish Parking lot

Come out to the newest Lake County Farmer's Market in Downtown Mundelein. Local vendors (within 200 miles of Mundelein) offering a variety of fresh produce, meats, flowers, cheese and artisanal foods. Fun for the whole family and good food too. A new addition to the market is a tented seating area where market goers can relax, have a snack, and enjoy live music. 

Barrington's Farmers Market

Thursday, June 23-October 13; 2-7 p.m.

The Barrington Farmers Market will offer a wide variety of vendors selling everything from fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses, honey, breads, dog treats, and pasta. Also grab dinner to go.

Village of Wadsworth Farmer's Market

July 15 - September 30; 2-7 p.m.

Come out and shop for fresh fruits and vegetables and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. s MarketAmenities include a children's playground, a covered picnic shelter, limited electricity and lots of parking.

Highwood Evening Gourmet Farmer's Market

June 15 August 31; 4-9 p.m.

Highwood brings together the most unique vendors from around the Midwest to sell, cook and serve the freshest foods and local wares. Recognized as one of the best markets on the North Shore, this vibrant party in the park has become a tradition for friends and family seeking great food, entertainment, and shopping. Every Wednesday from 4-9pm in Everts Park, guests are able to enjoy dinner and cocktails, while exploring the market’s many vendors and listening to different live music acts.

Chicago Botanic Garden's Famers MarketChicago Botanic Garden's Farmers Market July 16 - 17;  10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Come out for a variety of vegetables, sauces, fruits, dips, meats and much more. Gather seasonal produce, flowers, herbs, and other local, sustainable products at this event that is held rain or shine. Talk with vendors and sample fresh fare. The market is free to Garden visitors and takes place on the Esplanade.

MainStreet Libertyville Farmers MarketMainStreet Libertyville Farmers Market June 23 - October 20; Thursdays 7 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Local farmers will sell the finest and freshest produce, cheese, meats, flowers, breads, pastries. One of the oldest in Lake County! Sip a cup of coffee, meet friends and shop! More vendors than any other year this year.

City of Lake Forest's Open Air Farmer's Market June 18 - October 8; Saturdays 8 a.m. - 1 p.m.

City of Lake Forest's Open Air Farmer's MarketThis year, the city is celebrating American Farmers. The Market commits to providing the best local, fresh, healthy food to the community and the surrounding area. Farm-to-Table vendors provide vegetables, fruit, artisan breads, jams, honey and specialty items. The market is located at the intersection of Deerpath and Western Avenue. Free parking in all city lots.

Grayslake's Spring Farmer's Market April 2 - May 21; Saturdays  10 a.m  - 2 p.m.

A sure sign of spring beginning is the opening of the Grayslake's Spring Farmer'sGrayslake's Spring Farmer's Market Market. Come out and pick up some fresh produce, wine, cheese, baked goods, olives and much more. The market is open from April 4 through May 23 on Saturdays.

Grayslake's Summer Farmers Market June 1 - September 21; Wednesdays 3-7 p.m. 

Over 40 vendors featuring home grown, homemade products. Michigan fruits, vegetables, baked goods, meats, flowers, shrubs, sweets, wine, cooking demonstrations, organic produce and much more will be available. There will also be a Fine Arts market and a Munchkin Market. Please visit website for more information.

Lake Zurich's Farmer's MarketLake Zurich's Farmer's Market June 3 - September 9; 3-7 p.m.

Enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables along with pies, doughnuts, Wisconsin cheese, dips and sausage, fresh made cookies, gluten free snacks, eggs, poultry, breads, soaps and much more. Also there will Sharpening by Kris, who sharpens knives, garden tools, skates and more. Also local artisans will be displaying artwork and handcrafted items
