There is much to do in Lake County next weekend. Six Flags Great America has absolutely everything you can want in a theme park, and they’re always unveiling more!
Tempel Lipizzans
For almost 30 years, the Tempel Farms has been home to 90-minute horse ballet performances that chronicle the history of their training. Marvel at the grace that these giant white stallions and their handlers move to classical music.
Long Grove’s Festivals
Long Grove is known for its quaint covered bridge, cobbled stone sidewalks, cute shops (including Long Grove Confectionery Company) and they really know how to put on a festival! Live music, delicious food from vendors, and even carnival rides are some of the pieces that go into making festivals like Chocolate Fest so unique.
Chicago Botanic Garden
Open year round, the Chicago Botanic Garden has events throughout the seasons that kids will love. Explore over 380 acres of pristine gardens and spend a day outside with nature and wildlife. Bring your bikes to enjoy the many area bike paths surrounding the garden as part of the Lake County Forest Preserves.
Lincolnshire Marriott Theatre
This year’s lineup once again reminds us that the Broadway musical performances of the Lincolnshire Marriot don’t leave anything to be desired. Enjoy one of their musical packages and stay overnight at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort and dine on some of the best steak and seafood on Chicago’s North Shore.
Ravinia Festival
This is the mother of all festivals! Have a picnic on a blanket beneath a night sky painted with a kaleidoscope of stars as the heat from a summer’s day fades into pleasant night’s breeze. Enjoy kid friendly events throughout the summer and don’t forget to bring a cooler with your own favorites already packed.
Richardson’s Corn Maze
In the fall, it’s all about Richardson Adventure Farm and Corn Maze. This isn’t just a tiny little corn maze… this is the world’s largest corn maze and it’s right here in Lake County! Get lost in over 33 acres of living corn… but don’t worry about getting too lost, there are maps and helpful faces to help you get through the labyrinth. Climb inside of a zorbing ball as you roll down a hill, or go soaring on their 700’ zip line.
Volo Auto Museum
With 33 exhibits on display, there's something for everyone at the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, IL. TV and movie cars, vintage cars, scooters, snowmobiles, animatronics, tractors, military, Disney props, antique boat motors, kiddie rides, vintage arcades and so much more.
